International Baccalaureate (IB) is a holistic approach to education that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
The IB learner profile summarizes the learning requirements for the 21st century as adopted by the IBO.

The IB learner profile lays out a map of a lifelong journey; it is not intended as a profile of the perfect student. IB schools are committed to creating a complete learning environment that fosters the development of essential characteristics required for IB learners.
